The Grand Wall Bouldering Coop is a volunteer run bouldering Coop that opened its doors in 2008. It is one of the best training gyms i have ever visited and is akin to a second home for me. It is the place where i train for outside and inside. Through my shoulder injury it is the place i went to do countless reps of physio and rehab. It allows me to climb in a controlled way to not further aggravate, to make up problems as easy or hard, to play on an LED MoonBoard, to listen to my own music, be as social or introverted, to stretch in silence, to shower…
I wrote a piece about the amazing bouldering Cooperative here in Squamish which sums up life at the Coop. It made it into Mountain Life Media and you can click here to read article!
The Coop is currently doing a crowdfunding gig to help it through a rough patch. I can only hope that things will improve for this little gem of a gym or at least, we find a more affordable place to relocate. Please check out our campaign here! We appreciate any support even if just a share of our campaign to your own circle of psyched climbers who appreciate old school climbing gyms full of character. 🙂
