Assessments give a solid understanding of climbing movement patterns, strengths, weaknesses and goals and personalize the training program. Video analysis is also possible.
This 1.5 – 2 hour session includes:

In person Coaching:
In person coaching is beneficial to those wanting to become stronger and BETTER climbers…!
Coaching sessions will cover:
- hands on coaching with an emphasis on movement
- an evaluation of ones current weaknesses, strengths, and goals
- email recap of suggested training tips and drills relevant to you.
This session will benefit those wanting an outside coaches view, a fine tune up of movement, and extra guidance.
- One on one rate: $60 per hour
- Two person: $80 per hour
I am 8 weeks into a customized 12- week training program with Thomasina. 5 weeks after my initial assessment, the attached weight I could hold for my 4 finger hangs jumped 42%. About the Coach:
Thomasina is a NCCP certified Coach, is a certified ACMG Climbing Gym Instructor and has been coaching sport since the age of 16. From coaching gymnastics to climbing, Thomasina has learned valuable coaching and training methods from some of the world top climbing coaches in Canada, the USA, Switzerland, Germany, France and Slovenia. She follows the Long Term Athlete Development Framework from Sport for Life.
Thomasina brings a wealth of personal experience learned from competing for Team Canada at the IFSC World Cup Level, to pushing standards on rock, having climbed multiple v11's and 12's, and at the 5.13 level. Her vast experience has given her an excellent understanding of climbing movements; training for various aspects of climbing including sport, bouldering and competition climbing; injury prevention; mental tactics for projecting hard outside and for competition.
Thomasina is a mother, climber, coach, trainer, writer and endless wanderer.
Philosophies on training and coaching
I take a long term view to training which is largely influenced from my own personal experiences both on the rock and in competition. Giving equal focus to both movement and strength, I focus on climbers becoming better and stronger in all aspects. One can be a strong as a bull but it doesn't mean that they can climb a rock, or at least, climb it efficiently and thus reach their potential. If one has the technical skills and climbs efficiently, there is less need for strength and power to send their projects.
